Securing your real estate investments

Property Insurance

Specialised cover for commercial buildings, warehouses, residential towers, and investment portfolios, including the rental income they produce.

For owners and managers

Protect the asset and the income it earns.

Commercial property insurance covers the physical building against damage and, just as importantly, the rent you would lose while it is being repaired. For landlords and investors, that income protection is often what keeps loan repayments on track after a major loss.

We insure single buildings and portfolios for property owners, developers, owners' associations, and facility managers, and coordinate cover with lenders who hold an interest in the property.

  • All risks cover for buildings and fit-out
  • Loss of rent and service charges
  • Property owner's liability
  • Lender's interest noted on the policy

Placing your cover

How we insure a property.

  1. 01

    Asset schedule

We collect addresses, construction details, occupancy, and current values for each property.

  2. 02

    Valuation check

We check that sums insured reflect reinstatement cost, so claims are not reduced for underinsurance.

  3. 03

    Risk survey

For larger buildings, a survey of fire protection and maintenance supports better terms.

  4. 04

    Placement

We compare insurers, bind cover, and note your lender's interest where required.

Questions

Property insurance questions

Can't find your answer? [email protected]

Who should insure an apartment building?

Usually the owners' association or the developer insures the structure and common areas; individual owners insure their own contents and improvements.

What is reinstatement value?

The cost of rebuilding the property to the same standard, including demolition and fees. It is the basis for buildings sums insured.

Can I insure several properties on one policy?

Yes. A portfolio policy covers multiple locations with one renewal date and one schedule.

Does property insurance cover tenants' belongings?

No. Tenants should insure their own contents and fit-out.
